I found 2 major issues on subtitle for external played,
- displaying italic words in external player subtitle
- if there’s an .ass subtitle file, no subtitle will shown
Because of this, now I use built in player until it’s solved

Yes you can do the same thing for Jellyfin. I use Synology ddns and setup subdomain in reverse proxy to jellyfin port. For tailscale, I previously use this but needs to add the jellyfin port after the tailscale IP.

Enable quick share to receive from everyone (if using different google account) in receiver side. And then on sender when sharing, just use quick share. It will then show nearest devices.
Afaik, it will use wifi to transfer the file, so it’s much faster than simple Bluetooth

Been using Boox Poke 5 for more than a year. Really happy with it.
Latest android update added quick share which is much better than bluetooth to transfer my epub and other files
