- Comment on An entire PS5 now costs less than 64GB of DDR5 memory, even after a discount — simple memory kit jumps to $600 due to DRAM shortage, and it's expected to get worse into 2026 19 hours ago:
Memory prices have jumped a lot recently. Anecdotally, I bought some RAM off a website almost exactly half a year ago. Back then the price was 14 euro, now it is 41 euro, and the product I bought is still the cheapest for 8GB SO-DIMM 3.2GHz on the website.
Granted, there are two other possible reasons:
- It could have been a good offer back then.
- It is black friday tomorrow, so they might need a high price now to put it on “sale” tomorrow.
