Yeah I want my autonomous electric town car to be fully open. We should be able to have sustainable cars if any cars at all. Cars you can’t easily repair or maintain are not sustainable.

It’s great if you can afford it. If you can afford to fly even a couple times a year you’re pretty privileged. I can’t, and I’m still privileged.

Or there are bigger fish to fry like coal power plants and wasted idle etc. shit Google’s AI search results are wasteful in some cases but I’ve found it to actually improve my experience but I use a mix of search engines. You can always use one without AI or turn it off. It’s being pushed into almost every search though which I really don’t think is useful, and it would be best if they cached the answers instead of regeneration on command. They may cache some though.

I just have a shitty phone. Lol don’t buy a Pixel 6. (Unless you pick it up really cheap for temporary use)

Site devs need to see the threat from browser engine monopolies too. Valve literally started pouring resources into Linux gaming just because Microsoft looked like they were trying to dominate game stores on Windows. Chromium actually dominates the web. I guess at least base chromium is open source. Still though, one of those markets is way bigger than the other and it definitely isn’t Linux gaming. (God I love Proton/WINE and how far we’ve come!)

Wow safari is shit. I didn’t know it was that far behind. Damn. Well, to be fair my problem is my Pixel 6 is a slow ass buggy Google nightmare product. Firefox probably works fine on a Samsung phone but then I can’t install GrapheneOS. Yet I have never bothered so… Samsung and their locked bootloader may be preferable just so Firefox has more hardware to run on lol.

There is one issues though… Firefox is extremely slow and clunky. I hate to say it, but on mobile it is hard to use all the time for me. On desktop I’m Firefox 95% of the time but some sites don’t work very well with the much slower JavaScript engine. This isn’t to defend Brave or any chromium browser but we gotta get Firefox up to speed.

Socialist rifle association exists. Only neolibs believe they don’t need weapons to protect against possible tyranny.

I just hope violence is kept at a minimum. Most of the people where I live are Trumpies (well the older crowd especially) and they truly are just totally oblivious. They certainly aren’t evil. It’s so unfortunate because these are people I’d say are good people. They’ve never killed or directly harmed a soul to my knowledge. I just hope if there’s violence that it’s targeted top heavy because we all know who the problem(s) are and they could probably be counted by any tally counter that goes to 1k. AKA don’t focus on the manipulated, focus on the manipulator(s).
Please note this is in no way condoning any violence outside of Minecraft

Unfortunately. She literally rammed her car into another car allegedly just because they made her mad. She had serious mental health issues, and it’s horrible that she died, but the same people don’t care when it isn’t one of “theirs.” They’ll make excuses for police violence in every case except where it was almost the only logical choice for said agent. Like what was he supposed to do? Some of those people were actually armed despite lies to the contrary. I’d be shitting my pants if the MAGA mob were making my work day that bad. What did they expect? I thought the Capitol police were absolutely incredibly soft and very very professional. I’d have personally had a hard time resisting opening fire on the whole bunch.

Usually they can’t, but they can blackmail. Usually only if you’re really really deep in anti Pooh territory though. Pooh is vindictive and thin skinned like our spray tan guy. Spray tan could for example, work with Pooh to surveil and jail dissenters. It’s not that China is a threat to an individual American or other foreigner in a Western country per se, but as long as they could potentially leverage your data against you they do have a little threat. For the record Pooh and spray tan should be sent to an island together to… Oh shit nvm usually rich people and islands aren’t a good thing. 😂

- Comment on Microsoft paid $13B for this tech 10 months ago:
It’s amazing how Microsoft can take good models and absolutely ruin them in production… ChatGPT isn’t perfect but it’s like the difference between talking to the wall and talking to an avg IQ person that has reasoning capabilities in many domains that equals or exceeds human performance, if the user knows how to get the best prompt. That changes a little every time they do major model updates though.
I’ve had more intelligent conversations with my own computer running a 3 billion parameter open source model. They must be wasting an incredible amount of money. Especially with GPT-4 considering it produces pretty shit results through Bing Chat…

- Comment on 'Morale is at an all-time low': Ex-Googler writes scathing latter slamming layoffs and 'eroded' culture 11 months ago:
Google has completely lost its way. On my Pixel 6 recently the voice typing doesn’t even work correctly. Although it works sometimes it tends to cut me off where is it worked perfect a few weeks ago. Google is constantly introducing new bugs into Android and into their native apps. I can tell morale must be very low because shit doesn’t work.
- Comment on Discord will switch to temporary file links to block malware delivery 1 year ago:
It’s so hard to delete anything on Discord it’s in the permanent record. It’s upsetting. I use it too, but it is a nightmare privacy wise and it has all sorts of consequences.
- Comment on Dusk Developer David Szymanski: I'd rather pay Valve 30% and put up with their de facto monopoly than help Epic work towards their own (very obviously desired) monopoly 1 year ago:
Linux gaming has come so far. I don’t even run Windows anymore. Especially with how much open source AI stuff I use.
