You can download forms from the IRS website or use free software like TaxHawk. Many people prefer to use similar software that you have to pay for or pay an accountant to do their taxes for them.

I came across a company called Flower Turbines, they sell tulip-shaped wind turbines. They look nice and hopefully would do well on the energy front. They claim that their turbines start producing energy with just a touch over 1 mph winds.
It looks like it would be a cute way to generate clean energy.

- Comment on New Study: 54% of American Adults Read Below 6th Grade-Levels 1 year ago:
It wasn’t age locked per se. If you were in Honors English, they assumed you were reading at a higher level and could check out books one grade level higher than you and if you were in on-level English you were not allowed to read above “grade level”.
I can understand keeping a 6th grader from checking out a bunch of 1st grade level books, but discouraging kids from pushing themselves was weird
- Comment on New Study: 54% of American Adults Read Below 6th Grade-Levels 1 year ago:
I’m glad you had teachers like that. Not sure why mine were so dead-set on only reading in your grade level. Limiting lower level makes more sense, to encourage students to push themselves more. 6th grade was the last grade in the school, so the only people allowed to read the 7th grade level books were in the 6th grade Honors English class. It’s not like the library would run out of books if all 6th graders were allowed to pick out of that section of the library
- Comment on New Study: 54% of American Adults Read Below 6th Grade-Levels 1 year ago:
I wonder that the standard used for 6th-grade reading level is. I know that the 6th grade reading level at the beginning of the century is higher than the 6th grade reading level now.
I remember being extremely disappointed when I was in 6th grade and they had arbitrarily moved a lot of books up a reading level. There were a few in particular that I was looking forward to reading while in 5th grade that were at a 6th grade level. Then in 6th grade, I grabbed one of those books to check out but was told that I could t read it because it was now considered 7th grade and that I had to choose from the 6th grade level (which was largely the previous year’s 5th grade level).

Night owls still need groceries and it’s best to shop when you’re more awake and alert. When I worked a graveyard job, Winco was a lifesaver. I thought if better to include more for those who might be interested.

Whataburger, Winco Foods, insomnia cookies, Denny’s, and other diners come to mind. Since covid, hardly anything is open late anymore.
You might be able to find some other places local to you that we won’t know aboht, if you satay up late and use the “open now” option on Google maps.

I agree mostly with your comment. Math class used to be called logic, because that’s really what the general population is there for. Math is a vehicle to learn logical thinking. Those who become engineers or physicists will then learn how to apply those logic skills in their chosen field.
I disagree that history classes were mainly there to analyze evidence to make a point. We learn history, so that we can better participate in discussions, know where we came from, and learn from past mistakes. It’s vital that voters have an understanding of history to prevent bad things from happening. Don’t get me wrong, the main point about history classes wasn’t learning exact dates, but to have a good understanding of the timeline and have a good grasp of major events in the country/world. It’s that part, learning details about major events that I’m concerned will be glossed over with AI coming into play. How can you recognize a destructive political trend if you never learned why it was destructive in the past?

- Comment on What is the worst US state to live in generally? 1 year ago:
Depends on where you go in Dallas. With all the megachurches and conversion camp HQs around the metroplex, it’s also known as an evangelical Christian hotspot.
- Comment on Does a "10 hour drive" include breaks? 1 year ago:
In general conversation, no. We wouldn’t say that Hoiston is X miles from Dallas, we’d just say about 4 hours. Same with distance between Fort Worth and Dallas, we use time to convey distance.
It makes things easier for planning purposes to use drive time. We even say “drivetime” because that’s how long it takes to drive to the destination, whether that’s down the street to the store or a city across the state. It’s just like when you put in a destination on a GPS, it shows how long it’ll take to drive there, nothing more.
