No, it shows up as a downloaded book, no browser required! Well, you have to be connected to Wi-Fi (or have the mobile version) to “Whispersync” initially, but once it’s on there, you can read it offline, delete it, send it to the cloud, etc. It does open the browser if you want to archive or favorite it to your Pocket account, but you could do that when you have service again, or just not use that functionality…

The Australian Federal Court has been rocked by a major new case, as Beef Weelington has filed a defamation suit against Death Cap Mushrooms claiming the later has permanently damaged their reputation.
How do you (not OP) have two typos in the very first sentence of your article??
- Comment on I'm making a guide to Pocket alternatives: getoffpocket.com 21 hours ago:
The only reason I used Pocket was to save longer articles, ebooks, journals, etc with one click so they would sync with the free p2k (Poket2Kindle) service and automatically end up on my Kindle. Is there anything similar?

Isn’t this exactly what was exposed at the Amazon “Just Walk Out” stores? Turns out all the cameras and sensors weren’t good enough, so they paid thousands of people in India to watch videos and correct checkouts. They basically just outsourced the position of cashier, while pretending it was all done automatically!

This image makes me angrier than it should. Those 4 “right angle” designations are all lies. You cannot have a curved line attached to anything and call it a “right angle”. It’s not. Like, factually. I don’t care if it’s 2 feet long, or 200,000 miles, it will never be exactly 90°, which invalidates the entire thing.

I’m assuming it’s not a window on a real cow, or “cowborg”, turning it into some sort of unholy fusion of metal, bovine, and glass.

Sorry if I came across that way, I genuinely wasn’t intending to be condescending. The “correction” was simply me clarifying my own experience. But that image is genuinely amusing. I’ve driven through so many towns that look exactly like it!

Just yesterday I stripped a T25 because I only had a T20 on me and underestimated how tightly it was screwed in. Even though it was completely stripped with the T20, the design is so good that using my drill and pressing down with the proper T25 got it out. No screw extractor required!

Rural towns. And yes, that’s what I’ve experienced.
- Comment on WTF is a rural town in the USA? 1 week ago:
I’ll give you the first image. Like I said, I only spent a couple minutes finding them. But the second is absolutely typical, in my experience. In small rural towns, the “downtown” is concentrated like this (maybe with 1 fewer floor, and narrower roads). I’ve seen this exact scene in multiple smaller towns, literally all over the US…

beating around the bush
everything that could possibly be sensitive
Being nervous and awkward
avoiding the elephant in the room
self consciousness
You’re literally strawman-ing what I said. Empathy is considering others. It really is that simple…
- Comment on Why do people care so much that their friend or family member’s partner is attractive and not just loving? 1 week ago:
I can’t imagine caring that a happy family member or friend’s partner is less conventionally attractive, much less saying that to them!
You need to meet and surround yourself with less horrible people.
- Comment on Why do people care so much that their friend or family member’s partner is attractive and not just loving? 1 week ago:
Honesty is telling the truth to people. Openness is feeling free to express yourself. Empathy is considering other people’s perspectives and taking their feelings into account. People should practice the last one before impulsively acting based on the first 2. It’s called being an adult member of society.

No? It was a comparison of the streak, not the subject of the streak. That was just an example. My point remains. Unless you can literally stop time, the streak died. It’s okay that it did, but why pretend it didn’t?
