- Comment on Discord Shuts Down Servers for Switch Emulators Suyu & Sudachi; Disables Lead Developers Account As Well 4 weeks ago:
It’s so goddamn easy to set up a basic forum site for a few bucks a month, and it’s not like there aren’t hundreds of options for file sharing as well.
The Xbox and PSP modding forums were where I used to hang out before Reddit, a well-designed and run forum is so much better than trying to basically make a website out of a chat room.

Scott is doing the lords work here, I really hope a precedent is set that games must be made available either via official support or by releasing the server files once official support is ended.
Plenty of ‘dead’ games that I can still play with friends because the devs made it freely accessible once support was over. (Halo CE’s GameSpy patch as an example). We will figure it out, just give us the files!
- Comment on Swiss hydrogen-powered train sets 1741-mile record for nonstop travel 5 weeks ago:
It works great for European countries sure, but when it costs roughly $5 million per kilometre to electrify track and there are for example 800kms between Melbourne and Sydney, the cost just gets astronomical, not to mention the headaches of getting 1000V DC across that distance.
A self-sustaining vehicle is really important for big countries with long inter-cou try rail lines that have no support infrastructure for hundreds of kilometres
- Comment on Swiss hydrogen-powered train sets 1741-mile record for nonstop travel 5 weeks ago:
For regional train lines/freight lines full electrification isn’t feasible due to the length of track, diesels still rule the train world because of this

- Comment on Google’s self-designed office swallows Wi-Fi “like the Bermuda Triangle” 1 month ago:
What if I want to move my laptop around the office, say for example to make a presentation, or work in a different area? If I’m just working on some documents online, I don’t need a fast connection, just 30-50Mbit is plenty enough for pretty much everything, including video calls etc
And what you’re telling me you never use a mobile at work? You still need a signal to make/receive regular phone calls
- Comment on Google’s self-designed office swallows Wi-Fi “like the Bermuda Triangle” 1 month ago:
Can’t realistically plug your phone into the wall every time you want to use the internet
The whole point of a mobile phone is that it’s mobile

- Comment on The average American shower 2 months ago:
Once, when I came home high as hell from a friend’s party. Surprisingly did OK. Just had to keep it up and over the shower wall do the water didn’t get it.
Wouldn’t do it in an enclosed bathroom with no windows again though.

- Comment on What's the point of American police saying "Show your hands" after they shot a man? 3 months ago:
When I was assaulted by a drunken idiot in broad daylight in full view of the cops, and they did nothing to stop him assaulting me or running off
When I was randomly pulled over and my car meticulously inspected for defects/illegal modifications and when they couldn’t find anything they gave me a fine for the car being ‘too low’. And when I take it up with the magistrate it magically gets tossed out due to lack of evidence
Fuck cops.

Anything to further fuel cell development as well as hydrogen storage is a win.
Whoever figures out how to store hydrogen easily will be the next energy megacorp, hydrogen engines and fuel cells are reliable, proven tech, we just haven’t figured out how to store it and transport it without cryogenics and/or insanely high pressures.
