- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 deserves better than these awful WizKids miniatures that look like they’d melt on a mildly temperate afternoon 1 month ago:
The author calls it satire…. but it seems more like they’re genuinely upset about the quality of these minis.
Is this like when kids say something scathing and end it with “just kidding”?

Playing the windows version on Linux doesn’t really support Microsoft. It’s not like on the consoles where they get a cut of the sales. Even playing directly on windows isn’t that terrible. I don’t remember the last time I purchased a copy of windows. I’ve been using the same key for like 15 years now

I love this stuff. Developers making an unreleased game freely available so people can see their art. They even threw in the source code.

One of my friends let me borrow heroes of might and magic. Through being lazy, I ended up misplacing it and it was either destroyed or lost for good.
Years later I bought him the whole collection on Steam.

At the time I was something of a fan boy for final fantasy, but ff9 was the first one I didn’t finish. I played through all the way to the beginning of the end… and then decided I didn’t care and that I was forcing myself to play a game I didn’t enjoy.
I don’t remember having the technical issues you mentioned, but I just didn’t click with the characters and the world felt meh to me. I can’t recall a single song that I enjoyed from 9 either.
X was probably the last FF I finished before the series lost its magic to me. (FFXIV was fun but a bit too costly)

I was pretty confused too. It sounds like he won’t support anyone who is “anti-Israel”… which I thought the narrative was “Biden is pro Israel”… also the whole Canadian border crossing thing right after complaining about immigrants makes him sound a bit unhinged. This article is awful. Who cares about a random actor anyway? Even if I did this article doesn’t give me anything coherent to sway my ideas.
- Comment on What are the best indie games you've ever played? 8 months ago:
Since everyone’s mentioned the standards.
I’ve really enjoyed playing Tails of Iron (metroidvania with a focus on learning bosses attacks) lately. For programming games, I really liked Shenzhen IO (You create hardware with something resembling an Assembly language and a printable manual) and Human Resources Machine (drag and drop assembly programming)
I also have a soft spot for anything from Ska Studios (I maed a game with zombies in it, salt and sanctuary, salt and sacrifice, dishwasher, Charlie murder, and a bunch of older games that are probably not playable anymore)

Thanks for the info! I had no idea this existed!
I’m old and haven’t grown out of video games and now enjoy playing them with my kids! Video games rule for all ages!

Politics aside, this source is trash tier. At least link the original ny post article and not this garbage rage blog (or whatever you would call this) that links to the tweet that links to the source.
From the original source: the current value is closer to 2.5 million due to the depreciation of assets and they’ve now recovered 12,000 of the 77,000 assets. Still the number of lost assets is pretty staggering and someone (or many someones) is doing a really poor job of managing their assets… especially when it comes to interactive whiteboards and document cameras?!?

- Comment on What 2D printers do 3D printer people prefer? 11 months ago:
The brother line of laser jet printers has served me well. I almost never need to print in color, so I have the black and white variety. The toner lasts for a long time and it doesn’t dry out between uses. You can find relatively inexpensive toner cartridges for them as well.

No worries! It’s been a long day and I genuinely was having trouble telling if my brain was breaking or not

Are you two using different numbers or something? 7/68,000 as quoted in the parent comment equates to less than 28/200,000 Or is my brain just breaking and I’ve forgotten how to math?

For anyone confused about the Netflix bit. If you’re subscribed to Netflix, they offer a bunch of free mobile games that you can download and play. This works pretty similar to Apple Arcade. If you log into Netflix on your phone you should see a row of games that you can play.

CounterStrike 2 came out last Wednesday. Basically the same game as CSGO but with some quality of life and graphical updates. Might be worth taking a shot at getting back into it.
There’s some platforming but Hollow Knight is an excellent game if you enjoy metroidvania types.
If you have someone to play with you may want to give local couch games a try. I’m ignoring a few of your thematic dislikes because they aren’t really a critical part of most of these games. Games like: Lovers in a dangerous space time Boomerangfu It takes two Untitled goose game (single player is also fun if you enjoy harassing people as a goose) Unravel Duck game Portal 2 (single player is great) Cup head (single player is also great)
- Comment on Barbie (2023) OST streaming release discussion post 1 year ago:
I felt the exact same way. Great style. The actors nailed it… the first act felt like it had a solid direction… and then they forgot where they were going for the rest of the movie.
Why was Barbie being in the real world an extreme crisis just for it to be no problem at the end of the movie?
The mother daughter relationship felt shallow and forced.
Why were the Barbies intelligent but also immediately brainwashed?
They could have cut Will Ferrell and the entire board by the end of the movie as they added virtually nothing to the plot except Will Ferrell jokes. Why did they even go to Barbieland? What did they accomplish? Why were they chasing them just to leave them alone? Did I miss major parts of this movie or something?

Haven’t played that particular Shantae game, but I found the series off putting to play in front of my kids due to the high amount of fan service. Seems like not what op might not be going for here.
