- Comment on Is there a name for the trope where a story is high fantasy at first glance, except for it's not fantasy and is actually set in a post-apocalypse dystopian future? 1 month ago:
I think the trope From Cataclysm to Myth actually fits better. It even says in the description "Cousin to Earth All Along, but a premise or a plot twist rather than a Twist Ending. "

When you’re functionally immortal like Lazarus Long you’ll have time to learn all that. Most people only live long enough to master one profession.

Our new keyless ignition vehicle wouldn’t fully close the hatch with the doors locked and the keys in the car. It would go down half way and play the “I can’t close” noise.

- Comment on My opinion on Bone conduction earphones 7 months ago:
Yes it has some storage built in, enough for about 10 songs. The mic on these is garbage however, probably because of the waterproofing.
- Comment on My opinion on Bone conduction earphones 7 months ago:
I have the H2O Audio and they work pretty much the same. I got this pair for listening to music while I swim and they are fantastic for that. They last a long time on one charge and loading songs is easy as plugging it in to a computer. Another reason I got these is because occlusion sounds really bother me. I also carry some of those cheap foam earplugs for really noisy environments like plane flights. The foam earplugs don’t have nearly the same occlusion sounds and they block enough noise that you can hear the induction.

A phone number is not strictly required. They use it for some verifications, like suspicious activity. You can switch the number to whichever account needs it at the time, but only one login can have that phone number.

- Comment on Broadcom ends VMware perpetual license sales, testing customers and partners 11 months ago:
Broadcom used to be a worthwhile company, but now their whole M.O. seems to be buying up mature solutions and price-gouging the companies that rely on those solutions. They sell off the parts they can’t price gouge with and then the solutions stagnate. They did it with CA, and again with Symantec, and now it’s VMware’s turn.

It has to do with apparent size of the sun and moon. The sun is 400 times wider than the moon and coincidentally 400 times further away, so they look the same size. With no other reference points as to how big each object thing is, we perceive them to be the same distance.
