My roommate did a recruiter tour (mistake). He’d absolutely chuckle at that meme. Little did he know I was at the local colleges distributing anti-enlistment memes to the young folks.

Old buddy is lying because reasons. There’s better camping kits available in game that weigh less than the paid one and let you get buffs.
- Comment on Dragon’s Dogma 2 modders are finding ways around the otherwise acclaimed RPG's controversial microtransactions 7 months ago:
It’s a trend. It’s quite literally clearly worthless garbage tacked on as MTX to satisfy some worthless suit, but as long as you don’t just buy a bunch of MTX before even playing a given game, you’d notice none of that shit needs to be bought.

The non-dlc elite camping kit, which is easy to get, weighs less than the DLC kit and lets you cook food for buffs, unlike the paid one. Also, you have 4 characters. Spread the weight around efficiently.

The game made gameplay affecting design decisions around these micro transactions.
Name one, because I beat the whole ass game without even feeling the need to buy any of that easily acquirable in-game for no money stuff. Most of the stuff is for sale at the pawn guild, including the character redesigner. I got enough port crystals to basically cover everywhere I’d want to go regularly. I spent probably 500 RC over a playthrough that got over 10k.
- Comment on Dragon's Dogma 2: Review Thread 8 months ago:
I actually loved parts of the story from 1. Granted, a lot of it was pointless, shallow, needed expansion, better written characters, so on and so forth. But every scene with the dragon was enthralling. A lot of what happened after you beat it was interesting. And idk how to do spoilers here so I’ll be vague, but what happens at the final boss on a second playthrough blew my mind. I had no clue, and it had been hundreds of hours since, so my jaw literally dropped.

I never said scrap it. I actually support it. I just don’t want to be paid less and I’m mostly wondering aloud about potential effects on my industry.

You should feel safe since this is the safest work environment I’ve ever been in with the highest quality of work I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around. Everyone wants to be here and takes it very seriously. If someone obviously doesn’t want to be in this field or doesn’t take it seriously, then it’s extremely easy to get rid of them.

This would be a huge upset for the nuclear industry. 12s are the standard during outages, and while we get overtime, it’s all predicated on overtime starting at 40. 40 regular + 32 overtime doesn’t just flip. You’d be in overtime before the third day is even over, and you’d still already have 8 hours of overtime at that point. If I’m figuring it right, it’s 24 regular and 48 overtime, just because we go over 8 every day. I don’t see this being applied to the industry during outages, or outage workers just get reduced hours, and fuck that.

Tell corporate, it’s their plan. And yes, you’d be surprised how often it was, in fact, the last copy. If it’s not a major release, there’s usually only a few copies in the store, sometimes literally a single copy.

- Comment on GameStop’s definition of “New” 1 year ago:
Depends on the store, some let employees rent games.
And there’s no shrink gun at Gamestop, just that stupid plastic bag.
- Comment on GameStop’s definition of “New” 1 year ago:
Every game on display has to have the display copy opened. The game itself is kept behind the counter, the case is put out for display. It’s to prevent theft. You got the last copy of the game in the store. It socks, but that’s why. When I worked there I let people know it was the last copy and that the game had been opened but was still “new”. Gave them a chance to change their mind. Alas, corporate doesn’t offer discounts on display copies, and employees have no power to lower the price.

Gabe doesn’t want to brag about it, but the lads and ladettes actually compressed a Tesla’s battery to the size of a Game Gear, with no loss to mAH and its being included in the new Steam Deck. It also comes with a small fusion reactor to charge it in about 15 minutes. Customers have to provide cooling and a spent fuel pool, though.
