The actual model required for general purpose likely lies beyond the range of petabytes of memory.
These models are using gigabytes and the trend indicates its exponential. A couple more gigabytes isn’t going to cut it. Layers cannot expand the predictive capabilities without increasing the error. I’m sure a proof of that will be along within in the next few years.

"Trust in media is down…something needs to change. "
Owner over rides media which erodes trust further.
This chuckle fuck really thinks it’s the journalists that have eroded the trust and not dipshits like him controlling the narrative.
Remember this anyone someone claims billionaires earned their wealth with wit. These are not smart people. They are exploiters.
The Einsteins of the world never become wealthy because winning in capitalism is antithetical to intellectual capacity. Empathy and morality are natural byproducts of knowledge.

Socioeconomic weeds choking out the rest of us.
Utter ignorance is how we find ourselves with so many morons admiring the thistle in the garden for its pretty purple flower. While economists stand around debating the merits of these weeds by divining dogma to give meaning to weeds natural stubborn deep roots.

- Comment on Mark Cuban: "The Mainstream Media Truly Leans Right" 1 month ago:
The media is right wing. Even cnn has shifted right to capture viewers.
Turns out the left isnt interested in watching endless hours of repeated editorial content presented as journalism.
So the capitalists have leaned into the market that so willing to listen and that is the right. The mainstream of media has been Fox News for a ver a decade now, so to claim the mainstream isn’t right leaning is to claim that fox doesn’t exist.
It’s fine if the right wants to gaslight themselves as victims. It’s basically expected as this point. The narrative that keeps them tuned into endless new cycles that keep them fearing the larger world all but demands it.
No one expects the right to accept reality. Everyone understands they need comforting lies. Even they know it. They admit it. Then go right back to believing the lies and dismissing their momentary admittance of reality as lie as they bask in the glow of their gaslights.

- Comment on US: Alaska man busted with 10,000+ child sex abuse images despite his many encrypted apps 2 months ago:
It sounds like he created material, not only AI but actual children then distributed it. The tools to track down the creators of CASM is only getting better.
A single legal image of any of those children posted to social media is going to allow algorithms to make the match and its routine detective work from there.
It only takes one child to talk. No amount of encryption is going to stop that.

I haven’t had a problem.
iPhone with Screen time and communication limits means I can control how much time they spend in the device and in which apps and I control who they can contact.
Don’t approve any apps that allow social features.
Talk to them about the realities of the internet and the wider world.
All of this has to happen at some point. If you just hand off a phone to an 11 year old or even a 14 year old workout doing any of the above, you’re still going to have issues.
Much of what is being said about tech is the same as was said about tv and video games. The only studies you’re going to hear about this are the ones that confirm the societal biases.
If you don’t seek counter opinions of this topic you’re playing into the same fear mongering every generation of parents has had about the new thing.
Dancing, rock and roll, tv, video games, and now phones. Every time, everyone thinks this time is different and every time it hasn’t been.
- Comment on When shitposting becomes constiposting 2 months ago:
Agreed. I think moderating comments needs to be banished. The community can self-moderate with voting.
Banning users is pointless. Accounts can be created very easily. With decentralized one doesn’t even need to go to the lengths one does with Reddit.
Moderating should be reserved for keeping a sub’s posts relevant to the group’s purpose and nothing else.

Thats not what quantum mechanics shows at all.
What is being described is the pop-sci version quantum mechanics.
That version has people believing in multiverses and wormholes and other nonsense that is not falsifiable like magic and has no evidence like magic but people believe in it because people desperately want magic to be real.

Vegans need to downvote anyone that disagrees when them is proof their ideas cannot stand scrutiny. They do not relish in a debate of in any capacity. They don’t even have original ideas, it’s the same couple talking points because it’s ideology base. They call themselves converts but won’t accept it’s a religion.
- Comment on non vegan pizza time 4 months ago:
I’m sure you perceive it that way, as you already said you perceive being a threat. You appear to take pride in it.
Couldn’t be less threatened by you. Your abstinence reduces price competition for meat products. You are restricting yourself such that it benefits me.
The real threat in this regard are the boomers who eat more meat products than other generations.
I feel I should donate a quarter head of beef to a local food pantry in your name as tribute and to show there are no ill feelings. At least from me. I doubt you feel the same towards me.
- Comment on non vegan pizza time 4 months ago:
Nope. Vegans are fine. Veganist like you are religious nut jobs. You’ve created narratives and then act like anyone who doesn’t agree with you is the bad guy. Not unlike the far right or any other extremist group.
That feeling of your existence being a threat is the same feeling any other authoritarian feels.
