I actually kinda miss the days of internet screamers (what we called jumpscares back then). Back when people just made stuff on the internet for shits and giggles. Granted the ghost car video is part of an ad series, but most screamers were just homemade videos or flash.

His name was Powderman Jones. He was a man of donuts. He was apprenticed to the Kittenmongers of Snarf some 20 years ago. One day his cheese was stolen by the finger boys. So he hunted them through the state of Mississippi, and ate their toes. There were no survivors. No George! If only he could’ve known that doom was approaching the land, he could have powdered the toast. All exists. None Exists. FUCK Damocles. Mississippi cornflakes sees you. No one escapes. Everyone escapes. You’ve been corncobbed. The end. No it isn’t.

If YT wants to do aesthetic stuff, why not bring back custom channel backgrounds? Or better yet, add more site-wide themes like dark mode.

Still haven’t gotten any on Firefox with Ublock Origin. The usual explanation is that it rolls out in stages, but I’ve nothing weeks later.

I’m at a loss for words. Surely, YouTube trying to Adwall would be the stupidest thing in social media history. Surely, Musk changing Twitter’s name would be the stupidest thing. No, Steve Huffman has somehow managed to surpass the old masters. “We can survive without people being able to find our website VIA SEARCH RESULTS”! YOU. STUPID. MOTHERFUCKER.

Yeah, I suspected this would be a real point of no return. Mastodon will also benefit, but naturally the fediverse isn’t the first thing people think of. Fortunately, Mastodon has been working on this.
