For an extra few months of work, you could even grow your own tomatoes and herbs, and mine your own salt.

“Stop scaring the hoes”
Come on man, do you think referring to woman as hoes is gonna help 😂

Feddit.uk went down for a bit and no one knows why. There is only one fully privileged admin (the original owner), and they’re not super present. We have two other admins but they’re restricted in what they can do (don’t have access to the server itself I think?, can’t upgrade).
A couple of users are setting up a new UK lemmy instance in response to this situation. One of those users is very keen for it to be a replacement, hence the posts. Not everyone is on board with it though. It’s been put in hold while they iron some things out.
It’s not an “official” replacement for feddit.uk in that sense, but it’s another UK instance.

I’ve seen them called digital gardens, because they like something you maintain and let grow with no specific purpose.

Just rubbed some dirt in it and said a cool one liner tbh. No big deal.
I didn’t squeal in pain and run to the sink, shouting for my partner to bring tissues and plaster, and stand there holding it over the kitchen sink, saying “agh” to myself under my breath for 5 minutes because it wouldn’t stop bleeding, and they couldn’t hear me even though I could hear the smallest noises of them pottering about in the other room… I didn’t feel abandoned or alone with my pain

Its fine that it was my razor blade right?.. Right?
- Comment on Wednesday Whinge - 25th October 2023 1 year ago:
Definitely when I get mine. It’s a bit mad but someone must buy their Christmas stuff now for them to use up shelf space ?
- Comment on Wednesday Whinge - 25th October 2023 1 year ago:
Yeah, I’ve definitely not adjusted yet. So hard to wake up in the mornings haha!
- Comment on Wednesday Whinge - 25th October 2023 1 year ago:
Definitely some stuff going round. I’ve had a cold since Saturday and have events tomorrow and Friday evening that I don’t want to miss out on.

I managed to push a razor blade (just a loose blade, not a razor head) into the side of my right index finger tip this morning while cleaning out my bathroom bin. I think the only thing that stopped it going further was my nail.
Safe to say, having a half functional index finger on my dominant hand is making everything hard work, but I only have my self to blame for putting it in there…

This is an interesting take, and I hadn’t thought of it like this before.
I guess the things you’ve noted a regressions would be seen as progressions by some other person, and it depends on what a person’s perspective of a “better” state, presumably for all involved, is.
In either case, it’s given me a new perspective I hadn’t thought of before.

Oh no. That’s a real shame. I’ve been using Bandcamp where I can over Spotify for years. Fingers crossed this isn’t the beginning on Band camp going downhill

Oh no. What happened with Bandcamp?

I really thought it was higher to be honest. That’s even worse. Fully support it being raised, but not removed.

Also, I probably think there’s probably a difference between making rude remarks in an expected forum as a part of a judges critic for entertainment, i.e. when we all think it’s for show and he’s playing a bit of a character, versus making rude remarks behind the scenes and he’d be expected to be out of character and be more amicable.

I’ve never trusted this slimeball. He uses sexual harassment as a comedy tool and plays on old homophobic stereotypes. It’s always wound me up, but I’ve just always had this feeling that he’s a villain off screen.
100% would not be surprised to find out these contestants we young.
I’m just waiting for his downfall.
- Comment on Scrapping inheritance tax would cost £15bn a year by 2032, says IFS 1 year ago:
I think it only kicks in at 1 million anyway, and I wouldn’t disagree to it being raised to say 5 million, as it’s entirely possible from a regular person to get a well paying job, and have invested and saved their way to that figure by retirement.
But scrapping it entirely removes one of the only ways that we do tax billionaires. One of the last thing I’d want is billionaire generational wealth.
- Comment on UK wildlife continues long-term decline in diversity and abundance 1 year ago:
So sad. I love our countryside, but its been so long since I’ve seen a (live) wild animal that’s not a pigeon, crow or fox near me.
Maybe that’s just because I don’t knock about in the wild as much as I used to, but I can’t remember even seeing a bee this summer, just one bastard wasp.
