- Comment on Is Lebanon part of Israel’s promised territory? 1 month ago:
Sorry, no, I do not see it that way. While Israel has slowly settled additional territory, things have been relatively peaceful there for the last decade or so. There is no excuse for terrorism.
- Comment on Is Lebanon part of Israel’s promised territory? 1 month ago:
I kinda understood the disproportionate response for the first few weeks of this war. I just thought they were trying to be thorough, or to make a point, so that those terrorist events didn’t happen again. As time went on I started to see more indiscriminate bombing, more killing of civilians, more territory being claimed by Israel.
The pager “supply chain attack” was madness, they had no regard for who might be nearby. That seemed a lot like the terrorism this started this current leg of the conflict and was a clear escalation of the conflict. They haven’t been able to claim self-defense for a very long time. They are clearly the aggressors, and yup, if you try to criticize their actions your are accused of being an anti-zionist or a nazi. It’s all so broken and sad.

The River Perat, commonly identified with the Euphrates River, is situated in the Middle East. It flows through several countries, including Turkey, Syria, and Iraq, before emptying into the Persian Gulf. In biblical contexts, the Euphrates River is often mentioned as a significant boundary in the promises made to the Jewish people regarding the Land of Israel.
It’s not just Lebanon. They want it all, because the bible said so. The US needs to stop supplying them with weapons.

Yes, I use the Tidal playlists, artist radio and mixes as a replacement. I swear Spotify used to have genre based radio, but it’s been a while since I have used it.
- Comment on The Most Loved Digital Audio Streaming Platforms. 1 month ago:
Sometimes I miss the Spotify “Radio” playlists. Also, having the desktop sync with mobile so I could just switch players and keep the same playlist was also nice. It’s been over two years though and I don’t miss it enough to go back, Tidal is mostly a comparable experience.

Did that happen when they rolled out HiFi for everyone? They actually lowered my HiFi family plan cost at that time, which was unexpected.
- Comment on The Most Loved Digital Audio Streaming Platforms. 1 month ago:
I’m a huge fan of Tidal. Musicians actually get paid more, probably because they’re not wasting money on exclusive podcasts.

So your idea is to just abandon the court system and have him be locked in Gitmo or something? And that’s not fascism?
You’re just mad because you think you could do it better, but instead you’re nothing. Run for office, or get a law degree and become AG yourself, otherwise try and trust the parts of the system that are left standing.

To be fair, that genocide has been funded by every politician before them on both sides for generations. Israel has been sacred in America, since WW2 and then AIPAC. That doesn’t make it right, but that’s why, and it’s not going to change in one election.
Also, I’m not sure that Garland doesn’t want to appear political as much as they want the process to appear fair. This isn’t a witch hunt, they need to follow the facts and have a solid case that they can win in a court system that was made highly biased by the very person they are prosecuting. They need to win.

I only recently learned of GrapheneOS and I’ve been tempted to install it on my 8 Pro, I may soon give it a shot. Do you find anything to be missing in terms of feature availability or in the Google play sandbox? There are a few games I don’t want to without.

It should be code name “Bug Eyes”, in a nod to Zuck.

Seems like a cool idea but, so far with Gemini on my Pixel, I hate that I can’t tell what’s on device and what’s in the cloud and I ended up uninstalling it. I’m not sure Google needs to know more about me than they already do.
Supposedly the phone can run local models but I’ve only seen it in the recorder app, which isn’t really that useful.
- Comment on Questions about the safety of Tesla's 'Full Self-Driving' system are growing 2 months ago:
I’m considering buying one but lately I’ve been thinking about maybe getting a Mustang because the BlueCruise seems more honest. However, Ford doesn’t seem super committed to electric and it’s all hard to justify when my Honda just won’t die.

YouTube videos of FSD make it seem way better than it used to be (if they’re real) and it’s surprising that no one was paying attention until now.
- Comment on Microsoft donates the Mono Project to the Wine team 2 months ago:
It is the .net framework version. I’m not sure mono is used in anything but Xamarin and a handful of gnome apps. Xamarin has a clear upgrade path to MAUI but not without some effort and the risk of missing nugets, I did it on a small app once. This isn’t super useful.
- Comment on Microsoft donates the Mono Project to the Wine team 2 months ago:
dotnet is now a multiplatform framework itself. Do they still need mono?

Government bureaucracy. Social networks should be as close to direct representation of the people as we can get, like the fediverse.

I’m sorry you can’t handle when someone disagrees with you and I’m not abandoning human decency when I say things like “university should be free” and “if anything all education loans should be refinanced with a debt ceiling”. You are a coward.

Clearly there should be debt forgiveness for people with medical issues. Otherwise people should think ahead.

We have inflation for that. Wages will eventually go up.
And there was no crime here.
- Comment on Video of Eric Schmidt blaming remote work for Google’s woes mysteriously vanishes 2 months ago:
State universities, community colleges, boot camps and inexpensive online universities exist. Not to mention trade schools and entrepreneurship. No one was forced to take on an insane amount of debt. They chose it.
FWIW, the system is fucked for people that have degrees right now too. The job market is super competitive and a lot of educated people are struggling to find work.
We should plan for the future rather than pay the bills you don’t feel like paying.
