- Comment on Windows 10 reaches 70% market share as Windows 11 keeps declining 6 months ago:
I went back from Windows 11 to Windows 10 as 11 was too buggy on my system (maybe because I bypassed some checks for TPM because my motherboard was too old).
I cannot understand at all this move from control panel to settings thats half baked in 10 and presumably even worse in 11. It’s not an improvement and makes things difficult to find

Can anyone, I mean anyone, please explain to me that allure of so called cats. We are happy and have no cats. I just don’t get it

- Comment on Weight Lifting: How are you supposed to know the weights of unlabled things? 8 months ago:
Why do you need to know? Just track the weights you put on, ignore the bar/machine
- Comment on Wi-Fi jamming to knock out cameras suspected in nine Minnesota burglaries -- smart security systems vulnerable as tech becomes cheaper and easier to acquire 8 months ago:
That’s a bit of a blanket statement. It depends on the house and where you want the cable to go.

So allow them to be free and commit truly immoral crimes? Because locking them up is not very dignified
- Comment on What happened to the flat earthers who demonstrated that the earth is round in the netfilx documentary ? 11 months ago:
Keep making things up. Constructive discussion
- Comment on What happened to the flat earthers who demonstrated that the earth is round in the netfilx documentary ? 11 months ago:
That’s completely misrepresenting what I said. Don’t put words in my mouth. Suspected of a crime, then it should be proven beyond doubt and then punished. Guilty of bombing people, abusing kids? Don’t deserve any dignity in my opinion
- Comment on What happened to the flat earthers who demonstrated that the earth is round in the netfilx documentary ? 11 months ago:
Ok, then I have very different morals and character to you
- Comment on What happened to the flat earthers who demonstrated that the earth is round in the netfilx documentary ? 11 months ago:
Are you serious? There’s a huge number of humans that deserve no dignity. Terrorists and paedophiles spring to mind but there are many many more.

Makes sense, thanks for the info
- Comment on New to NAS - What are the recommended solutions? 1 year ago:
I already run proxmox but not TrueNAS. I’m really just confused about the HBA card. Probably a stupid question but why can’t TrueNAS access regular drives connected to SATA?
- Comment on New to NAS - What are the recommended solutions? 1 year ago:
I’d love to find out more about this setup. Do you know of any blogs/wikis explaining that? Are you separating the storage from the compute with the HBA card?

- Comment on What benefits do you get for being on-call? - programming.dev 1 year ago:
Used to be on $140k with on-call paid at $1050 a week (whether called or not). It was later reduced to $550 a week.
In a new job on-call is unpaid but on $230k (plus RSUs)
- Comment on Just finished wiring the garage to the house - and find that the wire is damaged! Now what? 1 year ago:
My TP link switch can detect faults and cable length. I’m not sure it can do both together but it’s possible. Worth checking if you have a switch with those features
