- Comment on Mods, what tips or etiquette do you recommend for reporting? 6 days ago:
Here’s a few on reports:
-If you think it merits a report report it.
-If you’re unsure if it breaks a rule DM a mod.
-Idealy on a report write the rule # broken. If you’re typing past three sentences it’s may have unnecessary info.
-If someone is breaking a “don’t be mean” rule, the answer isn’t for you to break it too.
Here’s a few non report ways you can help:
-Set a positive tone.
-A lot of good posts/comments probably never get heard because people think it’s too lower effort or no one is interested.
-Crosspost to related communities to help people find related communities.

Yeah, it’s still practiced. But the whole four humors thing is a bit old hat.
I think there’s a few of these misplaced. Heeleys>transition lens.
- Comment on Stolen design being sold on etsy 3 weeks ago:
Reach out to the seller. Assert to them that you own that IP and that it was released with a limited license that doesn’t include their sales. Say that they need to either stop or purchase a license from you to continue. If they don’t stop or want to get a license now is the point for you to contact an IP lawyer.
You could go straight to the lawyer option but this should save you some money and possibly resolve it without outside help.

If it was spinosaurus we would have lost half of our world’s paleontologists.
- Comment on California can share your baby's DNA sample without permission, but new bill could force state to publicly reveal who they're giving it to 4 weeks ago:
YSK other states have similar laws. Off the top of my head NJ and TX.

It’s not controversial…
Stop being outraged…
Personally when I was 3 days old, after reading the pamphlet, I went of the the state website to decline the prolonged storage of my genetic code because I was well informed of the potential threats to my privacy it might pose. My less learned peers simply remembered the pamphlet and went to the website after a few years once they could read.

Pretty sure he meant that satirically
- Comment on MKBHD - Do Bad Reviews Kill Companies? 4 weeks ago:
A plurality of negative reviews kill those companies that make bad products. And that’s a good thing. Wheat from the proverbial chaff as it were.

I really liked the dialogue system in the first game. Probably the best of it’s type. Hope they expand on it.

That’s why you’ve gotta wear the shirts of fictional bands. All the juice of being the person who seems like they’ve got good taste in music with none of the squeeze of talking to strangers.

- Comment on Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection used modder's work without credit 2 months ago:
Contracting someone to use an artwork they made of your character would implicitly grant a license for them to make commercial profit off of that transaction.

Fair use is a four factor test amount used is a factor but a low amount being used doesn’t strictly mean something is fair use. You could use a single frame of a movie and have it not qualify as fair use.

Not sure the CCP has a moral high ground on this issue.
- Comment on What are some good games with *zero* replayability? 2 months ago:
Might be an unpopular take but the Red Dead Redemption 2 campaign. I’ve tried twice to start a second campaign but it’s so slow. The first time around the narrative carries it, so it doesn’t feel so slow. But knowing what happens next takes that away. The worst part is how ridged it is with mission failure/success conditions. It removes room for creative solutions.
This is not to say it wasn’t wonderful to play once. But it plays like they wanted to make a movie not a game.
- Comment on Are Instacart tipping reccomendations insane or am I being miserly? 2 months ago:
I think their claim is the practice of tipping is facially wrong and people should be compensated by their employer.
However, that’s vastly different than someone going to the store on your behalf, checking out, driving to your house and walking all items to your front door does probably merit a tip.
I believe they’d agree that person deserves compensation but they’d disagree on it being by tip vs salary.

It depends on the method here’s a chart:
To be clear I don’t oppose renewable green sources, I just feel the benefit of nuclear merit it to be used along side renewables.

To add to point 4 in small municipalities it’s not uncommon that the dispatcher might also serve other roles like a notary or permit processor who have to be accessible to the department or the public.

Nuclear energy still has caused much less irradiation and deaths than coal.

For some reason the article won’t load for me. But I’m guessing it talking about the claim only ~9% of the time officers were able to confirm a firearm was present on the scene.

Sure. But only if your niche community is centered around a YouTube channel run by a man with a three musketeers looking mustache and ponytail who travels the globe to disassemble military prototypes.

Glad to hear it! And yes that is me. You’re making me feel like Lemmy’s second biggest celebrity, behind the android community moderator Margot Robbie. If you enjoy the posts don’t forget to check out the Forgotten Weapons YouTube channel & website.
The community is sort of a place for fans of the show to post stuff that other fans would enjoy, but it’s got a whole bunch of members who actually have found out about Forgotten Weapons through the Lemmy community first. I’m really glad to see people who find out about Forgotten Weapons from the community. It makes me feel like I’m giving back to Ian McCollum for everything I’ve learned from his show.
