Yes but when push comes to shove, they prioritise money. See apple serves in china being accessible by the goverment.
I do agree that it is nice that apple has things that protects buyers from telcos but, I do feel like the no bloatware and no different phones in regions is a image move so apple products are more easuly understandable for the average consumer (so more money).

I definitely agree with you on how planned obsolescence and consumerism is a huge issue. But we still need energy from something and this sounds like a great start.
I’m all about the three R’s. Especially prioritizing the order they are in.
REDUCE and REUSE first, recycle only if needed.
