I’m sure when it’s correctly prepared. This had the texture of a sponge.

25 years ago it was served in my french school, once or twice a year maybe. Never saw any since.
I remember thinking at the time it was ok, a bit like chicken.
My biology teacher was aware of the menu and explained to us in which gruesome way they were butchered. I didn’t eat any after that. We had other “old fashioned” dishes from time to time, like veal tongue. Nobody liked that. There’s something a bit unsettling in seeing hundreds of tongues sitting in a big container - Comment on Dbzero has Defederated from Feddit.org following its Governance post about the later's Zionist Bar Problem 1 week ago:
I didn’t notice c/europe was zionists. I just typed israel, I see highly (legitimately) upvoted posts against it.
I’m sure you can find some unsavory stuff, but I haven’t stumbled upon it once.
On the other hand I’ve been confronted to authoritarian bootlickers too many times from ml. If you don’t defederate from them too then you’re not being consistent.

That’s why I liked the “misleading?” tag on Reddit, it’s a good anti clickbait tool.

- Comment on YSK: You can use uBlock Origin to filter Lemmy posts based on certain words 1 month ago:
January 2025, I realize I don’t want to spend the whole year suffering king cunt’s awful rhetoric (it failed), I block his name with ublock. A few months later I forgot about it and I spend an hour trying to figure out why I can’t find my Lemmy post mentioning Trump.
It works really well.

Both answers to @PeriodicallyPedantic@lemmy.ca seem to imply there’s a hidden insult in their comment, but I can’t find it. I’m the dumb cookie and I don’t like that

- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 3 months ago:
I’m playing the sequel (I know, wrong sub). I normally never get sweaty hands. This changed. I even had to put flour on my left hand to get some grip on the thumbstick

I’m the same. But of course I do daily the parts where the sun don’t shine.
Some people really do smell more than others, with the same washing habits.
I myself prefer a slight body odor in others, even light sweat (not stink!). Although some perfumes smell really good. But that agressive deodorant smell I hate.

I’ve even ditched microg a few years back.
Depending on your use it might not be an option, but for me it didn’t make any difference, the phone does everything I need - Comment on I genuinely can't wait for Mobile Linux to become a thing 5 months ago:
I want this too but I don’t get how you can call something like LineageOS dogshit.
It works perfectly.
I’m a desktop user but my phone feels like the more polished experience (of course with way less capabilities)

Just tried a search for Magisk and uBlock indeed does a great job at blocking all the scam websites.
- Comment on fake keepass repo on github 9 months ago:
I need to install Magisk.
Google: 1st result: their Github page 2: magisk-manager.fr.uptodown.com/android 3: magiskmanager.com/ 4: magisk-manager.fr.softonic.com/android
Kagi: 1st result: their Github page 2: magisk.me/ (icon showing it may be scam) 3: magiskmanager.com/ (scam icon) 4: themagisk.com/ (scam icon)
No way I’m clicking on anything but the Github page. Kagi is somewhat better than Google, but you have to pay attention to the small warning icon. I would say bot search engines do a bad job and shouldn’t show those results (or have an option “show me unsafe websites”)

- Comment on [help] Cheap SSDs for storage 10 months ago:
Yes older gen is fine, but I don’t see that much of a difference on the 4TB drives, they tend to all start at 190-200€. Maybe because there aren’t any older gen at that capacity yet? I haven’t followed SSDs progress closely.
I won’t buy from Amazon either. I don’t have much experience with Aliexpress, and haven’t looked up their history out of laziness. Will do.
It’s hard, if not impossible, to buy ethical tech. I prefer to buy second hand, but that doesn’t really make a difference.

Thanks. Yes power consumption is important, so I’ll keep that in mind!
Is there a specific term I should look for, or simply “power management”?
