Good to know, thanks!

Yes older gen is fine, but I don’t see that much of a difference on the 4TB drives, they tend to all start at 190-200€. Maybe because there aren’t any older gen at that capacity yet? I haven’t followed SSDs progress closely.
I won’t buy from Amazon either. I don’t have much experience with Aliexpress, and haven’t looked up their history out of laziness. Will do.
It’s hard, if not impossible, to buy ethical tech. I prefer to buy second hand, but that doesn’t really make a difference.

Thanks. Yes power consumption is important, so I’ll keep that in mind!
Is there a specific term I should look for, or simply “power management”?

How would a VPS make it private? honest question, I have a VPS I could use but I always figured it would be linked to one IP, and I would be the only one using it. Doesn’t make much difference compared to home
If I were to share it with a lot of people that would be different I suppose
- Comment on Why can't we go back to small phones? 4 weeks ago:
A phone is just that - a secondary device
I don’t know. more than 60% of Internet traffic comes from mobile devices, and it keeps increasing
- Comment on Why can't we go back to small phones? 4 weeks ago:
people spend a third of their lives on those things. And while cumbersome, a big screen simply is better for media consumption
only way I see smaller phones make a comeback is if we change our habits or if a new technology comes along

I think I remember him endorsing signal years ago which gave it at big boost at the time
- Comment on If you are a young person you have no idea how bad everyone and everything smelled until at least the 1990s. 2 months ago:
Even as a kid I always liked the smell
And the cold tobacco doesn’t bother me either
However there’s one tobacco smell I don’t like, when someone smoked a cigaret very fast before boarding the train/bus. It’s a very strong, musky smell

his payrise is equivalent to something like 3000 US workers minimum wage annual salaries
if my math is correct (which it probably isn’t)

It breaks Cloudflare so for me tons of websites becomes inaccessible. Maybe you can tweak it but OOTB it’s unusable

I think I’ve figured out why I don’t mind them.
They’re really skittish and will run away when I’m around, and tend to stay on the walls. Chances are you won’t ever touch them by accident.
So I’m fine sharing the house.
Also I never seen more than one at a time. It hardly feels like an invasion
