  One big DB will be a single point of failure. You will not benefit from much more speed, the only thing which is “easier” is backup.

  I use different DBs for different stacks. If one hangs up or messed up completly, it won’t affect others

  Yes each user can have a private bucket and only this one. I am not this much into policies and I was lucky to get this template.

  There is no migration and you can not use the same (sub)domain for dendrite you use for synapse. It breaks the federation. If you use matrix.domain.com for synapse, you need to use another domain for dendrite.

  If yubikeys are too expensive for you, you can use the security keys. Webauthn is supported, but not TOTP. You could use vaultwarden or bitwarden for TOTP and the Security key as 2FA for bitwarden 🤔

  I have 2 yubikeys, one for backup in a safe place. If a site only allows one key, like PayPal, I use another method. Yubikeys are for 2FA on my nextcloud and bitwarden mainly. Both have backupkeys in case you lose them. Those keys are printed out and stored in a safe place too.

  In my opinion the best 2FA is a yubikey. They have an TOPT app too, but I prefer webauthn.

  A nuc is far more better than a Raspberry Pi. A Pi sure can do some things, but once you start, you will want more 🌞

  I use floccus. Works with nextcloud or any webdav, even gdrive.
