He is command track the other officers were engineering or security etc.
Maybe not "acting captain" but certainly I have seen equivalent in the merchant navy of a lower bridge officer being effectively in command of the vessel including more senior engineers as officer of the watch.

I LARP with medieval theme. Most speak English...most don't verily and ye (which is wrong as y is th anyway,). Some out in Scots accents for Celtic twist and some dinput on French accent for the rennaisance France flaire. But most just talk normally.

I think larps are slightly different I would say https://loxwoodjoust.co.uk/immersive-festival/ where the visitors see the reenactors, and while some cosplay, the renenactment is a performance by a cast.
Where as LARP (e.g. Empire) is all the "visitors" are in the cast

It is actually said (though may be urban legend) that the sticking two fingers up ina fuck you gesture originated from fact french would cut english archers fingers off if captured ( as English archers were such a boon to the army) so Brits would line up and taunt french that they all still had fingers to pull the bow.
That may be what is depicted here, flicking the V

I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of if you personally should be getting the ban.....
....but their ban system would be pretty poor if that was all you needed to evade it. In general ban evasion is a good thing and needed and things like browser, settings and OS fingerprint and IP address and so forth would all need to be factored in.

- Comment on Why Is Britain Retreating from Global Leadership on Climate Action? 1 year ago:
Because the fucking Chelsea tractor owners of Uxbridge, one of the best connected places in the country with 3 tube lines, two mainline rail and bus frequency measured in minutes, didn't like to have to pay to drive their tractors and so surprise victory against ULEZ was only way they could win....of course there may be an element that anti ULEZ sentiment is funded by oil and car companies.

There is some element of Vimes boots here. People cannot afford a new smartphone outright even though that is cheaper long-term, so have to take an option that gives a phone ..phones these days are designed to break after 18months as "updates" grind them down

Sadly I think more young people low 20s are turning more right wing thanks to their immersion in internet culture influenced by right wing think tanks and Russia.
In our office it is the millennials and Gen X that are left and the apprentices (18-25) spout incel, conspiracy theory and trump type policies they get online from USA. The most right wing Brexit was rights drown the immigrants in the channel are that cohort.

Voter's in Uxbridge didn't like the ulez and wanted to keep driving cars despite having 3 tube lines, two mainline rail and busses measured in minutes....this is on the voters and the man who should be in the Clapham omnibus....but is solo in his Clapham SUV.
- Comment on Rishi Sunak considering weakening key green policies 1 year ago:
At the moment it is people with their own home and a driveway. The terrace street/on street parking and the renter's will struggle to charge at home overnight and charging centers lack both capacity and cheapness and also reliability.
In a recent drive from Cambridge to Reading (so major south east, not even remote in any way. Nearly ran out of charge as two supermarkets were broken and another two service stations were full with people queuing.

Don't even see how new cars electric is "affecting poor people". poor people wouldnt have been impacted until 2037 anyway. People bring new car petrol or electric in 2030-2030 would not be poor.
- Comment on ‘Lib Dems will raze this place to the ground’: Mid Beds byelection duel could gift seat to Tories 1 year ago:
They had no choice LD plus labour would have been some 20 seats short of majority so would have been even worse than Mays minority con government relying on dup. A coalition if at least 4 parties would have been a nightmare to work. Their only option was Tory coalition. Maybe if people had given a swing of 10 more seats from Con to LD or Lab things might have been different.
