- Comment on Active duty members of the United States, How are you feeling in regards of being under the service of the Amerinazis? 2 days ago:
So, I’m not active duty anymore. However, when I was in, unfortunately during Trumps first administration, there was a lot of cognitive dissonance. Fundamentally, from my perspective, you have to understand that the military is a cult. Indoctrination is literally step 1. I would argue, in my case, it had started well before I had signed up though. Once you’re in the big army though, that’s it, there are consequences to your actions. When I began thinking for myself again, it was clear I was in a quite literal death cult, and I left. However, there was a period of time, where I was aware of this fact, and I just had to do my job. Or, face the wrath of a death cult.
The military preys upon the weak, poor, and broken. Yes, there is personal responsibility, however, you couldn’t have talked me out of joining that death cult. Even if my own political beliefs didn’t align with the military I signed up to die for, it wasn’t enough.

I agree, but, I see some parallels, a Reddit competitor that solved some of those issues, was hardly functional when they killed APIs. There was no competition. Look at us now baby! Still not competition, but, at least there’s an alternative.
I hope I can say the same about discord in a bit. There’s really nowhere for anyone to go, without losing a lot of features. Well, hopefully, talented people are going to migrate to these platforms to bring an alternative to discord.

Most of these comment have said a lot, but lemme just say, a rifle is not for “long range” while a pistol is “short” like a couple people are trying to say. Even for a shotgun. Anyway, former infantryman here. Get a 12 gauge shotgun. Get slugs, bird shot, and buck shot, you’re going to be fine in 99% of situations.
A rifle is more versatile, but, unless you’re putting the time in, it’s not worth it. However, it’s easier to handle than a pistol. Your rifle, just like your shotgun, can handle indoors just fine.
Handguns are for concealment. They’re much harder on the shooter to use, and require more time to become proficient. Short barrel length means weapon handling is down, accuracy is out the window, but, if you need a gun and you don’t want someone to know you have it, it’s your only option really.

This is mostly unrelated to the post, but, similarly to everything being “slammed” I’m tired of everyone “saying the quiet part out loud”.
- Comment on At this point, what should we do about the ICE raids? If an ICE agent breaks in without a warrant or holds you at gunpoint, what do you do? 1 month ago:
That’s fair. I will not argue that.

What can they do for “gun safety”? I’m fairly sure the woman murdered wasn’t because of lack of gun safety on her end.

I am not jealous of your pain. Enjoy the run! Hands down my favorite borderlands game. Fell off hard after two in my humble opinion.

It looks like two(the best one). And given that it came out in 2012, I would imagine it runs well, but I cannot answer that part.

- Comment on YSK that americans can now deduce private jet expenses from their taxes 2 months ago:
It’s not hard to file taxes. Especially for an individual, with a normal W2 income, and not much else. Certain people try to make it hard, but it’s not.
I don’t need to pay someone to put a number on a form.
- Comment on YSK that americans can now deduce private jet expenses from their taxes 2 months ago:
That’s the point. Poor people gambling can’t write off their losses on taxes. Well, they can, just only up to 90%. Rather than all of it like it has been.
- Comment on YSK that americans can now deduce private jet expenses from their taxes 2 months ago:
Ah, and only 90% of gambling loses. Looks like another point against the poor.
Not that I’m condoning gambling, but, weird how those things impact polar opposite sides of the wealth gap.

I wasn’t attempting to disparage them. Because I get it. I don’t gamble, but I have my own destructive ways to get through the days. Just unfortunate that it’s the case.
- Comment on willpower 5 months ago:
I’m in my upper 20’s, I have a lot of friends I would honestly describe as having a gambling “issue”, it’s a spectrum, some are worse than others. However, I do find it interesting that my peers are so disenfranchised, they’d rather spend time and whatever limited money they have, trying to hit a lottery, rather than work and attempt to move through the social ladder or whatever.
Now, I say all of that, to say, how are we, as a society, okay with this? How is it that I would put my life trajectory in the hands of a digital slot machine? Well, the simple answer is capitalism.
The Roman’s thought it had to be “bread and circus” imagine how stupid they must feel, all you need is a circus to keep your population from coming together.
Anyway, rant over. This image makes me sad.

Current media and institutions already try to control the conversation and how people think, and I can see futures where AI could be used by those in power to do this more effectively.
You don’t think that’s already happening considering how Sam Altman and Peter Thiel have ties?
