That sank into a crater. So we built a third one. That burned down, fell over, and then sank into a crater. But the fourth one stayed up. And that’s what you’re going to get, Lad, the strongest spacecraft on all of the Moon.

I don’t want to be that guy, but that sounds neither healthy nor very economical.
- Comment on Important News - Geoblocking of the UK 4 weeks ago:
or we would have to disable NSFW entirely, which means communities that use NSFW tags for spoilers or content warnings also wouldn’t be accessible.
On this note, why is it that so few sites seem to have implemented spoilers tags and instead relies on everyone using the nsfw tag instead?

I assume so, but I’m not sure where. I’ll have to Google it later

- Comment on Dell warns of data breach, 49 million customers allegedly affected 9 months ago:
Yep. But I guess it was already banned on government phones right? (not from the US, so I’m not all that up to date…)
- Comment on Dell warns of data breach, 49 million customers allegedly affected 9 months ago:
The section Methods on the Cambridge Analytica wiki page explains it pretty well. While it’s not proven to be able to directly influence voting, it’s effective at swaying people’s opinions and emotions about subjects.

The thing with tik tok isn’t only with the data China can gather from US residents. It’s also how they can use that information to influence the populace and send them propaganda, for example influencing the election results.
- Comment on [deleted] 9 months ago:
Nope. I have filtered both grad and hexbear out of my feed though, I don’t need their shit there. And don’t forget that many instances already are defederated with them, so there’s also fewer of them through that!
- Comment on [deleted] 9 months ago:
I was planning to, but ultimately didn’t. I have handed out personal blocks to obvious trolls and a brunch of hexbear users that spammed gifs in every single thread though.

Since Sony is publishing this everything you buy for PS is supporting that behaviour.

For those wondering, ReVanced launcher short after that and is even better than Vanced.

Uuuh, you sure about that? It seems like that shit keeps happening and nothing at all is being done about it.

Hey, don’t mix orcas in with sharks! They don’t attack people. (their boats, close to the mediterranean, have not been as lucly lately though…)

- Comment on Monthly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing? 10 months ago:
I finished Dave the Diver this weekend, great little game!
Now I’ve jumped board the No Man’s Sky train again, for the first time in six (!) years. And so far it’s been really fun and chill!
- Comment on Balatro Hits One Million Copies Sold In Less Than A Month, Mobile Port Incoming 11 months ago:
Yeah. Kinda. Sometimes if you press slightly in the wrong place you get the cursor instead, which can easily lead to misclicks. But it’s definitely playable! A mobile port would be really dope though

- Comment on How Disney and Warner Bros. Are Causing Internet Piracy to Boom | Platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ were supposed to do away with pirated media. Instead, they may make them stronger than ever. 1 year ago:
I have pirated a few games due to cost, since my SO is studying at the moment, and one of us has basically always been on parental leave the last 3.5 years. I bought both Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 when I could afford it though, since both of them brought me more than 100 hours of fun.

I’ve spent close to 20 hours in Jedi: Survivor. It runs surprisingly well on medium with my 1060 6GB, getting 30-40 fps except when in the desert. The game itself is really fun, an improvement on basically every aspect of the first one.
- Comment on The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion 1 year ago:
Ah jeeez, I’ve totally missed that… Might have to dive in again after I’m done with Jedi: Survivor then… I think Update 5 was the last time I played now.

Is there any word of Update 8 to stable yet?
- Comment on Dear server admins, please defederate threads.net. Dear users, ask your server admin to defederate threads.net. 1 year ago:
You should look into Embrace, Extend, Extinguish. I think the biggest fear is that they have so many users that they will just flood all instances with their stuff. This can, in time, lead to a situation where they can defederate from everything else and bring a lot of people with them, since most of the content will have come from Threads.

But that won’t necessarily change with this ruling right? Your government doesn’t need to change how their apps function because of this.
- Comment on The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion 1 year ago:
I can see myself getting burned out in a few weeks as well. But so far the combat is really fun, and the stories are interesting enough to keep me playing.

I’ve actually started playing Genshin Impact, and it surprised me how fun it is! And it’s nice to be able to play on the phone when travelling/sitting in the sofa, and then hop on the PC when the kids and wife has gone to bed.
- Comment on Fallout TV Show - Trailer 1 year ago:
Wheel of Time is not bad imo. At least not season 2. The thing with that series is that it’s not possible to adapt every single thing from 14 books to 8 seasons with 8 episodes. I went into it as a new turn of the Wheel, and while the first season didn’t do much for me, with the second one I can actually see the beginnings of something that can become really good. I’m cautiously optimistic about the coming seasons now.
