This was exactly my experience as well! The same thing happened with Witcher 3. Sooo much hype but no matter how many times I’ve gone back to it, I just can’t get into it.
- Comment on Is anyone using PixelFed? How is your experience so far? 6 months ago:
I’m a huge fan of the fediverse and I didn’t even get the fed reference haha. A typical user surely wouldn’t get it either!
- Comment on Is anyone using PixelFed? How is your experience so far? 6 months ago:
Not a big fan of the name. Even PixelFeed would make more sense.

If I was I’d be playing the theme song from 28 Days Later in the picture ☺️

imadethis new way of reporting battery usage!

I prefer the aesthetics of the classic iPod OS ☺️

Does it still count as “imadeit” if I made it using a hodge podge of other people’s parts? Haha, I ordered the custom shell from eBay ☺️ but it feels very high quality (not 3D printed)
- Comment on iPod with custom shell, new screen, 512gb SSD, and a 30 day battery 7 months ago:
I used a modern 3000mA battery which provides about 60 hours of music playback. That’s about 2 hours per day which is much more than I use!

I really enjoyed the original game on PS Plus. Hoping the second one makes its way there too.

Yayyy, I’m loving the similarity to the tried and true classic Reddit UI!
- Comment on Sand Land, the upcoming action-RPG based on Akira Toriyama's manga, has a demo out now 8 months ago:
I just watched the trailer and downloaded the demo. Excited to give it a try. The art style looks very unique and gameplay reminded me of an old Xbox game called Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. Speaking of which I never even owned that game but sunk hundreds of hours into the demo lol.

This is a great perspective! Thanks for sharing the quote. Maybe the fact that I laugh at political incorrectness (or disrespect of others) says more about me and the way I was brought up than I even realize.
There’s got to be some benefit to being able to express yourself freely even if it comes at the expense of others though, no? Accepted social norms have a habit of becoming outdated. Sometimes the reason they become outdated is because we shine a light on the ridiculous nature of some our behaviors. I guess what I’m trying to say is that sometimes too much respect may come at the expense of stagnation?

I really miss this kind of silly, yet creative, politically incorrect content of the old games and internet. Way too much self censorship going on these days in my opinion. Not enough personality.
- Comment on Ubisoft Exec Says Gamers Need to Get 'Comfortable' Not Owning Their Games for Subscriptions to Take Off 10 months ago:
I just want to start off by saying Arrrr, I’m on your side.
But I just don’t follow the logic. Netflix is selling both service and content. When people pay for Netflix… yes they pay for infrastructure related to streaming content. They also pay toward the cost of producing original content and acquiring licenses.

I’ve seen this saying going around and while I do like it, something about it bugs me. These corpos want to treat everything as a service. If you acquire content from a service via illegal means you are indeed still stealing, no?

Do the Persona games have to be played in order? Or can I just pick up any one of them that’s available on PlayStation?
- Comment on SEGA Reveal Teasers (Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Crazy Taxi & More) 11 months ago:
Don’t let stuff like this tarnish your memories please. Many of the clothes we wear, food we eat, and products we purchase most likely involved some form of injustice during production or shipping.
It’s not your fault that you were born into a broken system. You found joy in spending time playing with your mom. There is absolutely nothing more innocent than that! Try to be a decent person in your local community and don’t internalize this kind of news too much. Anything else is guaranteed to be a recipe for a miserable life.
- Comment on The New Games Journalism, Same As The Old Games Journalism - Aftermath 11 months ago:
I quite enjoy this site. On my journey to replace a lot of my content consumption with RSS feeds, Aftermath found a home in my RSS reader. We are human and humans can be hypocrites but there’s no need to dismiss an entire publication because of a single author’s hypocritical stance.

Hey! I took a good 5 minutes to write this original content. That’s like 10,000% more effort than the average repost on Reddit.
- Comment on I am returning my Playstation Portal 11 months ago:
Thank you! This entire post is my little way of poking fun at the current state of things. It’s as if the market tries to set a singular narrative for new games/products and it’s very hard to provide honest feedback if it goes against the grain in any way.

You are right. I will keep the device. Thank you internet stranger!
- Comment on I am returning my Playstation Portal 11 months ago:
I don’t have an iPad 😆
And the experience of using a dedicated device for the task seems more pleasant to me anyway. I did try the Backbone but it annoyingly required me to take off the case every time I wanted to play.

- Comment on PlayStation Portal review: impressive hardware but is Remote Play itself good enough? 11 months ago:
Most of my games are on PlayStation. The Steam Deck is clearly the more powerful and capable device, but it is also more expensive and I have no need for any of the extra features. I love the ergonomics of the PS Portal (even though it looks silly), the haptics, the huge screen, and it all comes with a seamless integration into the PlayStation ecosystem. Plus there is no need to take the case off of my phone every time I want to play it unlike the Backbone.
It’s definitely not for everyone but they call it a DadStation for a reason ☺️.
- Comment on Ubisoft blames “technical error” for showing pop-up ads in Assassin’s Creed 11 months ago:
This story has essentially caused a 20% off coupon for Assassin’s Creed Mirage to circulate my lemmy feed for the past 2 days. I am a chubby man with a weak heart that hungers for these types of comfort food games and this subliminal advertising is hard for me to resist.
