Yeah, leave it to the shoujo/josei audience to do the mental gymnastics to go from this premise to “uwu, so romantic”.
It’s gonna be weird if this becomes a typical romance. But when I don’t think about what it might turn into, this premiere wasn’t bad, and I actually like it. I expected something way more edgy and cringe, but it didn’t push that angle hard enough for me to make me uncomfortable. Hopefully it stays weird but balanced. Maybe I’m a little biased because I’m a sucker for this kind of character designs? Who knows
