India cannot solve its water crisis without pricing it appropriately

Pricing appropriately doesn’t mean making water so expensive that ordinary people have to rely on rainwater and government welfare programs to meet their basic needs.
It means that everyone gets what they need by making the rich conoanies and weakthy poiticians pay for their greed.

I think that’s part of the author’s suggestion that they provide vouchers to the less affluent. Personally I don’t think that’s enough, but it probably makes it more palatable to the political class.
