Five stars
Frog and Toad Are Friends by Arnold Lobel (1970) is the start of a beloved and canonically queer picture book series that continues to inspire people. It's a book my husband grew up with and one we read to our children. I've read it so many times as an adult and during the running of this book blog that I am shocked to my core that I haven't reviewed it on here yet.
The book is an I Can Read level 2 and has five stories: "Spring", "The Story", "A Lost Button", "A Swim", and, "The Letter". My favorite of them is "A Lost Button." A little over twenty years ago when my oldest was an infant I even made art based on the story, essentially a collection of all the buttons described in the story.

@pussreboots @bookstodon I read this to little kids for 40 years. I ended up handing the book over to the grandkidlets.
@Merlo51 @bookstodon I can't tell you how many editions we've read to death.
