#KatharineKerr delivers on the climax of her second Deverry quadrilogy, with all the magic, battle scenes, and shocking character deaths one might wish for. Imagine George R. R. Martin, except working decades earlier and capable of ending a story, and you wouldn't be too far off.

I do have to address the cover though. This *might* be a good cover for a campy barbarian fantasy, but it's a dreadful fit for this book. Rhodry would never dress like that, nor rock a mullet! @bookstodon #bookstodon
