Just watched this last night and learned a lot. I thought it was very well done and crammed a lot of information into a tight runtime.

Back in the 1960s the US government tried to pretend that “Red China” didn’t exist and the Nationalist Chinese government was the only representative of all the Chinese people. This meant that the only version of the story people heard was Mao’s, and he was seen by man as a benevolent and popular leader.
The American government tried to suppress the truth, and ended up making Mao popular with American college students
