This is more of a potential cure and not prevention, but some research has shown caffeine and aspirin to be the best:
Once the source of the hangover headache was located, the researchers then set about figuring out how to get rid of the pesky things, using known headache blockers. Turns out the combination of caffeine and over-the-counter inflammatory drugs (i.e., NSAIDs – things like aspirin and ibuprofen) were best at blocking the head-pounding effects of the acetate.

I knew a guy that tried to do one of those hangover IV things and the business failed miserably
I don’t know why people find it so hard to chug a glass of water every once and a while when drinking heavily.
Even as a dumb teenager I was putting vodka in Gatorade, it’s pretty hard to get hungover when most of your mixed drink has what plants crave

Dehydration and electrolytes are but a fraction of what is truly driving a hangover. You can’t simply wash one away with water and salts.
The worst part of a hangover is when the liver is processing acetaldehyde. At best you can delay that process, spread it out, or shunt it to a rest period. The body still needs to process it.

Yeah, but that’s all the other cures are too tho.
I’m not saying Gatorade and vodka is perfect, I’m saying it does just as any job as any of these grifts.
