I came to lemmy months ago to get away from the rising reddit infection of hard right activist powermods that use their authority to harass their ideological enemies. For a while it was really nice, to be able to engage with a likeminded community without getting banned for saying things like ‘cheetolini is a seditionist’
In the last few days I have been the deliberate target for my comments such as this:
And the freedumb caucus will just boot them too.
This is the symptom of a disease, just getting another body in the chair doesn’t address the cause.
which was in violation of zero community guidelines.
The only suggestions I’ve found how to handle this is to contact the instance operator at info@lemmy.world though I see mixed results from those replies.
I don’t want to see lemmy run to right-wing harassment shit, and am clueless as to what the next steps should be, so suggestions would be helpful.
I’ve already blocked that particular community but the mods there are also mods of several other communities I want to engage in and I don’t see how it would be worth it if that same harassment is just going to follow me now like it did on reddit.

You did the right thing by contacting us via info@lemmy.world. We, the admins and the community team, work hard to ensure bad faith mods get removed. Our processes to handle such cases will probably improve over time.

I appreciate the quick response, and am glad at least that I was on the right track.
