A near-future thriller of a woman drawn into a world of ecoterrorism and the smuggling of taxidermied endangered species. Jane is a unique protagonist, a hulking former collegiate wrestler and bodybuilder with a violent past, turned into an apparently respectable middle class mother. Not particularly weird by #JeffVandermeer standards, but he keeps things disorientating in ways that obscure the protagonist's motives and didn't exactly help me get into the story.
