Witch Hat Atelier, Volume 4 by Kamome Shirahama (2018) is the start of the Sincerity of the Shield test which involves escorting Myrphons (think four legged penguins) through the tunnel remains of the Romonon kingdom — a place so besotted with the idea of perfection that they ended up turning the majority of its population to gold and then collapsed as a society.

  @CheetahFluff @bookstodon It has very strong John R Neill vibes but with way more skill behind the artwork. Neill was the illustrator the Oz series.
