Hi,
I was curious, after seeing quite a few spam posts originate from one particular instance, is there a way that I, as a user, can block instances, so that their users’ posts don’t appear on my feed completely?
Cheers

Some of the mobile apps have a ‘block instance’ button.
There is also the report feature. Report the spam and I’m usually on it fairly quickly. At least you’ll be saving other aussie.zone users from seeing it.
Roger, wilco.
I’ll try to see other mobile lemmy apps too - currently using Voyager on iOS, and it doesn’t have this option.
A further question Re: the reporting of spam.
If I see the spam on a community on a different instance, say, the “technology” community at beehaw.org (beehaw.org/c/technology), and I report spam, would you receive it, or would it go to their mods/admins only?
It will go to both. For general reports of content on another instance’s community (eg a post doesn’t comply with a rule, but there’s nothing else really wrong with it), I just ignore them.
But for spam, I’ll ban the user and remove all their posts.

Not in the current version of lemmy. It is planned for a future release.

Ah. Requires a lemmy upgrade… Got it…
Thanks :)
