e-waste go brrrrr
Mudd also wouldn’t tell us why the company claimed there were no issues and publicly resisted issuing a recall back in 2022.
I’ll give you one gue$$
Cue the insurance recall calculation scene in fight club…
Finially ill be able to afford one.
Shit. I just bought one few months ago.
You're fine. It's a voluntary recall, they were pretty much forced to do one by the cpsc but the boards are working as intended. They've also released a firmware update that makes the board vibrate and make a noise as an additional safety measure. (Keep in mind this cannot be disabled under normal circumstances so if you already know how to ride safely you should consider if you want to install the new firmware or not)
Of course always wear at least a helmet and wristguards when riding.

TLDR: one wheels will abruptly stop when low on battery or when moving at too high of a speed for a long period of time. New one-wheels are receiving a software update to hopefully prevent that, but the original Onewheel and Onewheel+ should stop being ridden and disposed of.

Which makes it very interesting that they ignored the problem until now even though it was widely known. They are just another anti-consumer garbage company.

Onewheel is such a cool thing. I rode mine everywhere where you would think it shouldn't be possible. But the company itself can honestly go fuck themselves. I had soeme problem with mine (still have, just found a not so fancy workaround) but since i don't live in the u.s, shipping is expensive and i read some horror stories of rapairs that took forever, i can't just ship it around just so they ship it back without them doing jack shit for month. Their quality control seems to rival teslas, since mine should have never left the factory, it never ran before it arrived at my doorstep. And theyr customer service is absolute ass.
They just happen to have that one niche product no one else can do as good (when it works)

It was the first thing mentioned to me when I saw one on my university campus lol, I’m surprised they haven’t had a mandatory recall.
