I did a complete deep clean of all the parts (vat, build plate, gently wiped down the 8k screen with a microfiber cloth, cleaned tools, etc.) I haven’t gotten a new USB yet but it’s on my to-do list.

But doing all this and getting stronger supports and adding new supports where it seemed most needed was very helpful! I also tweaked my print settings to go more slowly, like 20% slower. The print went from 5 hours to a little over 12 hours, but it came out near flawless. I still have some things to work on, but most of my mistakes post-print were due to me rushing. I wanted to get this done for a special woman I’m currently dating and she loved the print.

I also made sure to dry the print before UV curing with light pats from a paper towel around it and very light brushing on the inside of the “bowl”. I didn’t get it as dry as I wanted nor did I have time to sand down some of the edges, so there were some white spots on the side where most of the supports were. But the overall color came out very strong and little to no white cloudy discolorations. I also reduced the size just a bit, enough that the new smaller print fits in the older failed print. But size didn’t matter too much for this because it’s for holding yarn and can still do that job with slightly smaller balls of yarn. I think I could have kept the original size tilted some more and added more supports and it would have been okay, but I didn’t want to chance it this time. The important thing is I’m learning! :D

But overall, it came out beautifully, and I have those in this community who replied to thank!

I unfortunately didn’t get any more pictures because I was in a hurry, but seeing this was too awesome when I came back home from work and I know what to do next time for future prints!
