    Just don’t tell her that coffee falls under replicator rations, lest you find yourself “Tuvixed” or have your matter added to the buffer for use like Soylent Green.

      She complains about having to use her ration on coffee in one episode. Presumably that’s why they divert to the coffee nebula.

  This scene made me wonder how effective recycling is in Trek. If a pocket watch can by recycled to make a meal or boots, well damn, that’s like 500% effectiveness?

      I just assume on the between episodes tone they’re gathering dilithium and rare metals that they can’t replicate efficiently.

      Efficiency isn’t that important when you’ve got a warp core and can frequently find fuel.
