  Domestic Terrorist Organization Criteria To designate an organization as a domestic terrorist organization, the Chief of Domestic Security must find that:

  • The organization is based in or operates in the State of Florida or in the United States.
  • The organization is engaging in terrorist activities that either involve illegal acts dangerous to human life, or that are intended to:
    • Intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
    • Influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion;

  I think this technically labels most corporations as domestic terrorist organizations.

      I haven’t gone to Publix in a long time. Winn-Dixie actually seems to have gotten better post-Aldi buyout. I stick to them or Aldi if I can help it.

  What I most have trouble with is “Intimidate or coerce a civilian population.” So, if an activism organization wants you to call or knock on doors, or if protestors block traffic, could a person call the cops and cry harrassment and intimidation? Will that go to the CDS to determine?

  They’re also clearly targeting Muslims and college students.

    It’s hard to tell because bills in this country are written as diffs to existing law, rather than documents unto themselves, but it looks like whatever they want:

    “Domestic terrorist organization” means an organization designated as a domestic terrorist organization by the Chief of Domestic Security under s. 943.03102.

    I haven’t had a chance to read it fully, just skimmed, but there is some hand-wringing about “Sharia Law.” Maybe someone who is less prone to terminal eye-rolling can give a good summary.
