Modern Vintage Gamer did a video. His clear model flexed and his beige one did not.
Personally, I don’t think flexing is acceptable either, as the original never did that, at least none of the many I’ve used.

Ouch that’s a lot of flex. Worried it won’t hold up to long term use by heavy handed typists.

Yeah that just looks cheap to be honest. I would not be happy with that at all.
