Yes but only if someone binds the contract to the description.
Yep, I had a unionized job where it wasn’t the case and the union even refused to negotiate that clause because they feared the employer would just create ridiculously long task descriptions so they could have us do pretty much anything.
i hate this so much. i have applied to jobs with so generic job description, and than thay wanted a very specific thing. but no it was not in the job description.

So rarely I see a job description that actually makes any fucking sense.
I used to think it was an experience issue on my side, but I’ve gone back and looked at the descriptions for the positions I’ve worked and it still makes no sense.
It’s all just generic recruitment lines about dynamic teams, managing workload, striving for the best…
Seems to be rare for places to just list the duties of the role these days, the best you get is an idea of the actual role from the “desired skills” section.

You are correct, just a bunch of generalised bs so that they can push more work unto us when needed or when shortstaffed with little to no wage increases.
