The Fediverse is the network and NOSTR is one of its protocols.
Isn’t that the neonazi platform? I have no experience with it.
Much like ActivityPub, it’s just a protocol, and it is whatever you make it.
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard someone on lemmy claim that, but I will say having spent time on botth sides of the 'verse and I’ve seen more facists on various corners of the ActivityPub based 'verse than in NOSTR.
i do not know where you get that impression. antisemitism, conspiracy theories and general racism are soooo common if you just browse one of the public feeds on primal, ditto etc. not to mention like 1 in 5 posts are just bitcoin posting.
we do have instances of fascist chuds on ActivityPub, but they’re at least a little less easy to run into if you go to our equivalent of a public firehose like mastodon.social

NOSTR is not any more a protocol of the fediverse than ATProto and Matrix's protocol are.
This is the first time I've seen anyone consider it as being part of the fediverse. Are there even any federated platforms that federate with it? If we can't talk to it, how is it federated with us?

ATProto and Matrix are both part of the 'verse too, XMPP and Email too.
There are at least two different applications Mostr and momostr that allow communication between nostr and ActivityPub users. For some reason Lemmy doesn’t federated properly between them, and it doesn’t seem a high priority for either side to look into.
