Hey yall,
I was actually able to get this hard drive imaged from this laptop so I feel good about wiping it and using it now. I also ordered an ide to sd adapter so I can run off that instead the OG hard drive but anyway.
My question is, what would you install on this? I was thinking freedos would run best- however then I thought maybe win 98 or puppylinux may work too. It has win2k, but it runs very very slowly on that.
Mainly I want to use it for old dos games and software, but there is so much win 98 software out there too so im not sure. Linux would be fun but I already have a couple other linux laptops.

Pay attention to what drivers are available for each OS. I’m particular, it can be difficult to find DOS sound drivers that work well with something that new. You can install Windows 98 and use it to boot to DOS as needed although I have personally found 98’s DOS mode configuration to be awkward to use. In these situations, I tend to use system commander to dual boot with a small DOS 6.22 partition: winworldpc.com/product/system-commander/2000-5x
