I have yet to meet anyone who enjoys a patronising grandad's voice, introducing a game while making terrible attempts at humor. The Universim did the same thing and it's just so grating. When did this become a thing?? Also, why do all the characters have floaty hands with no arms. In fact, there's so many odd design choices in this thing. It's a shame because there's a lot of work done here. I'd love to hear from anyone who finished the demo and enjoyed it.
As game development budgets get cut, the first ones to go are the designers. It’s much easier to sell a game which doesn’t look great but still works than a game. That looks great, but doesn’t work right. In the corporate assholes who are in charge of these game designed budgets can only about one thing: sales. They couldn’t give a flying fuck if you enjoy the game, just that you bought it.

Haven’t played this, but I think Bastion is the first game I remember doing the grandad voice thing. I enjoyed it there, not sure about liking it elsewhere.
