If you have the opportunity to test $100 as ephemeral, I recommend it. I’ve never kept track of money loaned to friends. If I get it back, nice, but otherwise, I was just helping a friend.
It’s worth noting, I’m not friends with grifters.

I loaned a friend $50 over 30 years ago. I never saw him again. I consider it money well spent.
“Friend”? WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Now, folks that haven’t paid back my loans.
U serious?
If you give me 150, I can give you 50.

The rule is never lend a penny to a friend that you expect to get back.
Giving $50 to someone you hate is a very cheap way to get them to avoid you.
