This may sound bad but, why not bring people over from discord to here? All that is discussed in discord gets trapped forever in a walled garden, and older discussions tend to be buried forever. An open forum like Lemmy seems to me the ideal medium for the kinds of discussions you seek. What does a closed chatroom offer that fits your needs better?

Real time conversation, and voice, as well as customization. Like: Emojis, Roles, Channels/Categorys. HOWEVER… I do agree and see your opinion/POV, I just like Discord, for the reasons I already listed.
