More or less yes, but getting it dry will take longer.

Soaking the stain in water asap (before it dries) will go a long way.

This was how people washed clothes before modern laundry machines.

That method would not wash anything more than a little sweat.

Yes you can but stains can be difficult and you might get better results using specific strategies depending on the type of drink.

remember that the washing machine agitates the water and the fabric to lift everything off. The soap makes the water lose it’s surface tension so it coats over everything.

historically, people would wring and slap garments over rocks or whatever and rinse them into the stream or pool. (or have concrete basins with sides meant for exactly that.) then we developed things like the washboard that let laundry be done in a tub.

so, yes. you could do laundry this way. Though, if you’re looking for specific products to help with stains… my mom always suggests rubbing Fel’s Naptha onto the stain (wet,) and then scrubbing it out. (or prepping and putting it in the laundry for not-set-stains.)

I sometimes need to do similar things on work trips. Hand soap is alright, but it’s more effective to use soap meant for handwashing clothes.

Tip: Squeezing your socks between 1Kg bags of dessicant in a hot and dry place is an excellent way of drying them quickly.

I hand wash any clothes that require it, and I had to get out blood and such at times. I recommend gall soap for that first, then wash. You should not use generic soap though, as it foams too much. If you have any washing detergent available use just a little and hand wash, then rinse thoroughly.
