The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) rejected the EU’s unilateral move, reaffirming that India does not recognise sanctions imposed outside the United Nations framework.
the sanctions target Nayara Energy’s 20-million-tonne-per-year refinery in Gujarat’s Vadinar, where Russian energy firm Rosneft holds a 49.13 per cent stake.
I mean India does enjoy the energy sovereignty by trading with Russia, the same way EU their authority to saction them because of it. Seems fair.
India does not recognise sanctions
Sanctions don’t work this way. They do not cease to exist if you ignore them. Like Russia. They will come and bomb you regardless of your opinion.

Haven’t we been through this before? Europe does more trade with Russia than India. They cannot see anyone else profit from war.
