Putin can’t beat a single impoverished country, let alone take on EU but if everyone raises their defense spending to 5% they’ll have to buy from American weapons manufacturers, and that’s soon to include snake oil from big tech. Trump’s a sleazy businessman, that’s what he’s good at.
If we were to be really concerned for everyone pulling their own weight within current 2% target we should take a look who includes military pensions as their military expenditure, for example.
