I really enjoyed this plainspoken little book about particle physics by #IvoVanVulpen . It is mostly written at a level that I would happily put in the hands of a curious teenager, and indeed my 13yo is the one who got it out the library and is planning to read it soon. But be warned that the complexity level increases rapidly when it gets into the weeds of the standard model, and supersymmetry. @bookstodon #bookstodon

I also have a few questions. First of all, I wasn't entirely sure what a Higgs Boson does. Is it a force carrier of the Higgs field? Second of all, I want to know what some interesting but understandable things to look into. Thirdly, I want to know what the S(10) set contains. Is it 6 pairs of quarks and leptons and the four forces? I wasn't entirely clear in the book. Finally, I want to know what some first steps to start a career in particle physics or astrophysics would be, as both really interest me. I loved your book, and I thank you in advance for any reply."
