What kind of work do you do? Curious since you don’t write by hand.
I’m in IT, so I don’t really need to handwrite much. Always a computer at the ready.
Good pens and good paper.
I use it to note down important things and I use arrows, boxes etc. Do you know how hard it is to do that digitally. Also after doing a task, its so satisfying to tick off an item with a big old swoosh.
I primarily visit job sites with an iPad and stylus for plan reviews, but writing in a notebook communicates to the other person, in a tangible way, that you are present and participating the discussion.
Some notes I want to look at later I do write with pen and paper. For jotting things down I just have a digital tablet you can scribble or draw on
Never. I’m not sure if we even have a pen on the house that isn’t used for colouring in by my kids.
Same for work. I’ve not had to write anything for literally years.
Hang on, does signing your name on a document count?
Incredibly rarely, and not as a part of everyday life. The few notes I take are usually digital as part of my work.
I started using paper again this year after many years with only digital notes. It helps me think.
Yes, I do. It’s great because you can take it everywhere and it also gives you the flexibility to sketch, write, design your own layout or glue in other things. That is something that no software is able to do without hassle.
But: My handwriting is totally unreadable, I never found a OCR software that works on it and it really sucks to search in handwritten notes
I do. I tried a couple of different tablets with a stylus, but just like paper and a good pen better. I have a collection of metal pens that I favor. Check out jetpens if you want to go down that particular rabbit hole.
That said, I take most of my notes in mind maps on a computer. It’s really only when I am traveling or once in awhile when I just really feel like writing again that I use pen and paper.
Yes. Absolutely. I have started to regularly write.
I have to hand write my notes, it’s just how I operate. To use less paper though I have a remarkable tablet. It’s been so incredibly helpful.
Not really to the point where my handwriting is shit because I haven’t written anything substantial for the past 5(?) years. But paper is still the best for drawing schemas/associations. And normal drawings of course, I carry a small notebook for that.

I do for my job, where I need to quickly jot down important information. The info I jot down is temporary in nature, and after a particular “job” (I might have a few jobs in a day), the info is useless.
Paper and pen is great because it’s fast, custom, doesn’t take up screen space, and you don’t have to click buttons to throw it away.

Do you scan or photograph such things?

Nope. If it was something that I’d need to refer to later I might go the photo route, but since it’s all temporary reference I just toss it in the trash.
