I feel like nostr and mastodon being bridged means they're sorta interchangeable, but I still think ActivityPub is the right choice. We know that there's a wide variety of different forms of software that can support ActivityPub (we're on one right now), but barring that nostr is fine.
Bluesky seems like a non-starter since it's just a centralized protocol anyway.
