A search engine from 2012? Not sure these days.
What is the best place to search for actual news about a keyword and get results that are actually timely and date order descending?

A search engine?

Kagi is a search engine, but it has ways to narrow the search. One of these is “news” and it works quite well. I saw a Lemmy post about scientists tattooing a tardigrade so I went to see if I could find relevant results. I found multiple news articles confirming it. Kagi is a paid service, but it may work for your use case.

Kagi = best 5$/mo I spend. Found them in my de-googling process.

Ground News. I know it gets sponsored a BUNCH so it might be a turn off, but it really does what it sets out to do
